Moving from a sun-drenched climate to the lush embrace of the Pacific Northwest is a significant transition, and our latest interior design project in Vancouver, WA, was all about making that shift feel like coming home. Our client was eager to immerse herself in the verdant beauty of our local forests and wanted her home to reflect that rich, green environment.
Beyond simply mirroring the outdoors, she also desired a sense of warmth and an inviting atmosphere that the existing space lacked. Our approach was two-fold: to infuse the home with the colors and textures of the surrounding nature while layering in new pieces that exude comfort and coziness.
One key area of focus was the kitchen. The existing southwestern backsplash felt out of sync with our client's new aesthetic. Rather than a complete overhaul, we opted for a thoughtful refresh. We streamlined the existing cabinetry by removing some of the more ornate details from the original build and introduced beautiful new hardware, echoing the black accents we strategically incorporated through accessories and updated lighting fixtures. A stunning new natural stone countertop completed the transformation, dramatically altering the kitchen's appearance without the disruption of a full remodel.
To further enhance the home's aesthetic cohesion and introduce more of those grounding black metal elements, we also reimagined the entry stair rail, giving it a more interesting and contemporary look. The result is a home that beautifully blends the tranquility of the Pacific Northwest with a newfound sense of warmth and personal style, creating a welcoming sanctuary for our client's new chapter right here in the PNW.
Before working with us, clients feel buried under endless choices and uncertainty. After, they step into a home that feels like a deep exhale - one that looks and functions exactly as it should. The transformation isn’t just about the physical space - it’s also about emotional space.
