The Blended Chapter beautifully illustrates the art of harmonizing two distinct personal styles into a cohesive and updated home for a couple marrying later in life. This Camas residence underwent a transformative refresh, beginning with the establishment of a unifying foundation through new flooring and a refined paint palette.

The design narrative thoughtfully embraced existing cherished pieces. In the front of the house, a high-quality pink-beige linen sofa, a beloved item of the wife, became the inspiring hue. A multicolored area rug, featuring subtle yet intentional touches of black, anchored this space, introducing a grounding element that subtly hinted at the bolder design choices in other areas. This same sophisticated black was thoughtfully echoed in the front room's light fixture, creating a visual thread that connected the softer hues of the front to the more vibrant palette in the back of the house. The soft blush of the sofa was elegantly sprinkled throughout the front area in carefully chosen accessories, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. Serendipitously, a piece of student artwork featuring the same blush tones further solidified this color direction.

Transitioning to the back of the house, the design embraced a bolder aesthetic in the family room. An existing red velvet sofa and chairs featuring a black geometric fabric found new life through the introduction of sleek black accent tables and a striking black contemporary backsplash in the kitchen. This modern backsplash provided a sophisticated contrast to the newly painted white cabinetry while seamlessly integrating the existing black countertops, creating a cohesive and dramatic culinary space.
